Area Description:
Situated just south of Nashville is a little neighborhood called 12th South. Its name is characterized by a long strip of retail businesses located along the 12th South Street. The retail area in 12 South boasts a large assortment of options ranging from gourmet popsicles to boutique apparel.
Since 2013, 12th South has become one of the most expensive places (price per square foot) to buy in Nashville. Many homes have now either been completely renovated or torn down to make way for new construction. In fact, there aren’t very many rooftops left in the area that haven’t been affected. Like many of areas of Nashville, the growing population boom has pushed many people looking for property in the most desirable areas of town.
12th South has also become a huge tourist hotspot, the streets are usually packed on the weekends with locals and tourists alike filling the stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Most afternoons you can find people walked down the street, coffee in hand, taking selfies in front of Reese Witherspoon’s Retail Store, Draper James.
12 South is also home to the famous mural, “I believe in Nashville” wall. Which long lines usually ensue over people waiting to get their picture snapped in front of.
